Brushing Your Dog’s Teeth

Dogs suffer from gingivitis just as humans do. If left untreated, it can develop into, periodontitis, a destructive gum disease. Not only is gum disease destructive to the dog’s health, it is hard on the pocket book. To save future vet bills and improve your dogs breath and smile, learn to brush your dog’s teeth daily.
I find the tooth brush than fits over my finger the easiest to use. They are available at pet stores and perhaps Walmart. Do not be tempted to use human toothpaste. There is a reason your mother told you not to swallow the toothpaste. It isn’t good for dogs either, and you can’t teach them to spit it out. There is special doggy toothpaste that will not upset their stomachs. It is also comes in flavors that dogs enjoy.
It is not difficult to brush the dog’s teeth with some practice. There are videos online that demonstrate how to do this.
